The Quad-City Times Bix 7 marks its 52nd annual running on Saturday, July 25, 2026, through the streets of downtown Davenport, Iowa. Founded in 1975 by Bettendorf resident John Hudetz as a tribute to Davenport-native jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke — whose memorial jazz festival follows a week later — the race has grown into one of the country's most storied road races, drawing more than 18,000 participants. The USATF-certified 7-mile out-and-back course starts at the base of Brady Street Hill, one of two severe hills on the route, then heads right onto Kirkwood Blvd, up Jersey Ridge Rd, right onto Middle Rd and McClellan Blvd to a turnaround at River Drive, before retracing the route back to a finish at 3rd and Iowa Streets, steps from the Mississippi River, where the Bix 7 Finish Line Party takes over downtown. Seven water stations line the course, and showers are available afterward at the Davenport Family Y. The companion Prairie Farms Quick Bix shares the same start before cutting its own shorter route back to 4th Street. Race weekend also includes the Arconic Jr. Bix for kids, the Bechtel Trusts Senior Bix for participants 50 and older, and the MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints, a quarter-mile uphill sprint. Packet pickup and the Running Wild Sports and Fitness Expo take place at RiverCenter South Hall (136 East Third Street). Title sponsor: Quad-City Times. Results: Athlinks.
