REVEL in speed, REVEL in beauty, REVEL in Big Cottonwood: this incredibly fast and remarkably beautiful road race takes runners from the forests and canyons of the Wasatch Mountains to the foothills of Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Starting high inside Big Cottonwood Canyon, the point-to-point course drops steadily downhill — a speedy slope that has earned it a reputation as the fastest marathon and half marathon in the state of Utah, with a Course Score ranking it the 2nd-fastest marathon course in Utah and among the top 5 marathons in the country for chasing a PR. The trade-off is a steep early grade that can be hard on the quadriceps for anyone who hasn't specifically trained for downhill running.

After exiting the canyon, the course passes under Wasatch Boulevard and continues through Cottonwood Heights to the Old Mill Corporate Center, ducks under I-215, and enters Holladay through Knudsen Park, looping along Holladay Boulevard, Arbor Lane and Highland Drive before finishing at Cottonwood High School in Murray. Every finisher receives a medal, a technical shirt, free race-day photos, gloves and a mylar blanket for the cold mountain start, plus food and fun at the finish line. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Brighton Institute and the Cottonwood Heights Foundation, and runners who complete three REVEL races in a calendar year earn the coveted Triple REVELer medal.
