En route vers un 2e globe ?
Déjà vainqueur du général en 2017, l'excellent Stefan Kraft est désormais lancé vers un possible deuxième sacre.
Ce matin à Sapporo, il signe deux magnifiques sauts à 139m, pour un total de 268 points, et remporte avec beaucoup d'avance sa 18e victoire en coupe du monde.
Un succès qui lui permet de quitter le Japon avec le dossard jaune et 63 points de marge sur Karl Geiger, 5e de ce concours.
L'Allemand Stefan Leyhe, grâce à un second saut à 142m, le plus long du jour, vient prendre la deuxième place tout en grimpant sur son 2e podium en carrière.
Ryoyu Kobayashi, revanchard après la déconvenue de le veille, se reprend parfaitement en venant chercher la 3e place.

"I love this hill, I'm always jumping well in Sapporo and today's competition was my best this winter. I saw, that the jumpers before me didn't have good conditions and I then had some headwind. I had a bit of luck and perfect jumps, everything worked out well for me today."

"It's been a while since I was on the podium, it was one and a half years ago in Wisla. My second jump was really good and I also had the necessary luck. I'm very happy about this result. The weekend here was a lot of fun."
Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN):
"I should be happy, because I had to good jumps in difficult conditions, but somehow I'm not completely satisfied. My shape is not perfect, I'm not satisfied with my technique, my inrun speed is not fast enough."
